So there I am banging on about giving up drinking (see last blog post) and what happens? Yep, I got tipsy. Ok ok maybe it was more drunk. It was our regular girlie get together and they're always a lot of fun and the wine flows. I do remember at one stage thinking "you really don't need anymore" as I poured out another glass of red and happily drank it. So I'm outing myself.
It's all too often we see people and read their blogs/see Facebook pages and assume that their lives are going brilliantly and they're successful at everything. Fact is that's always just one side of the story so don't get too caught up in it. We are all humans, we all have our crosses to bear and there's always more to the story than meets the eye. So go easy on yourself. Be kind and compassionate and treat yourself as you would you best friend.
Me - well I'm just going to brush myself off again and tell that inner critic to buzz off when it starts slating me for my actions. I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be. I'm on a journey just like you are. I suppose my point is 'don't beat yourself up when you make a mistake or you mess something up.
Instead ask yourself what have I learnt from this? What's steps can I put into place to do better next time?
