Healthy Nut Brittle

Nut brittle. Easiest recipe ever. It's my take on the almond bake in the I quit sugar book. I melted some coconut oil, natural peanut butter (no palm oil or sugar added), then added in desiccated coconut, vanilla essence and cacao nibs. Then for extra nutty flavour I added in ground almonds. Mix it all up and in the freezer for 20 mins. Then I cut it up into brittle pieces and back in a Tupperware. It melts if kept out the fridge so be warned xx

Chakra Yoga Adventure - Anahata

This week we arrive at the Heart Centre - this is the place all about love and frankly (as I see it) love is really all there is.

Get yourself out into nature and feel your heart expand and your breath soften. Soak up the wonder of the woods and its soothing qualities. Reconnect to your heart through daily meditations and allowing yourself to soften the walls you may have put up around it. Gently nurse yourself back into an open heart space.

To feed your heart chakra choose leafy greens, green teas (see the theme yet), sage and thyme are good too. Think sprouting foods, rich in chloryphyll, asparagus, spinach, kiwi, avocado.

Banana

a Kiwi

A teaspoon of green powder (spirulina, super greens, chlorella)

Some strawberries

Mineral/filtered water/Coconut juice

Whizz it all up and slurp away

Nourishing Yourself

I don't know what it is about this week but I feel out of sorts. Some say it's the moon, some say it might be the soundbath from last weekend, I am wondering if its the late night I had last week...

So yeah, I've had this kind of heaviness, gloopy feeling, I've not been able to sleep very well and last night I had nightmares that I couldn't breathe.

Yesterday I decided not to do any work because I just wasn't feeling right. Then last night I ate loads of crap foods - biscuits, bread, sugary snacks. Yep, that didn't help. I also had some wine and you can betcha that also hasn't helped. In fact, I bet you it accounts for making me feel even worse today.

So it's simple really, if you're feeling crap don't put more crap into your body! I know this, you know this. But I was in a funny old mood and sometimes we don't learn our lessons quickly. haha.

Today I've been good to myself with lots of eating healthy.

The highlight has been a chia & banana pudding which is a variation on this recipe that I saw on Tales of a Kitchen. Click the photo below for her recipe.

Even though I think chia looks like frog spawn I love eating it. It's pretty tasteless to be honest so you can flavour it with whatever as it takes it on. And the best bit is they're fricking great for your health! They contains calcium, manganese, and phosphorus, and they're a great source of healthy omega-3 fats.

So remember, what you eat affects your mood so be mindful. Make sure you are eating healthy.
