It can get confusing, knowing when to breathe in or out in a home practice. There's no teacher there to guide you (unless you're using an online one of course). My advice on doing a home practice is to start with something simple. The sun salutations are a series of postures linked together by breath. Once you get the hang of them (and there are lots of different ones to choose from), it can be a nice flow to do in the morning when you get out of bed.
Some people get confused about the breathing in/breathing out part of the practice so here's a short video to help you along.
I recommend going to 42 seconds for the most direct understanding of it. For some reason, my video went all weird at the beginning
